On pilgrimage one journeys to a place with others. That sounds simple enough, but through the power of God’s grace the simple act of journeying turns into a transformative experience, a true pilgrimage. This year’s Plymouth Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes was just that, an occasion of transformation, of healing, and of grace all thanks to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This year’s pilgrimage had a wonderful blend of beautiful, well-organised, events and liturgies, and of free time to explore the town of Lourdes and to spend to peaceful time with Our Lady at the Grotto of Lourdes. There we some outings also, to beautiful spots around Lourdes such as Gavarnie and Bartres where one could enjoy the peace of God’s creation. All these things were made easy for the pilgrims by the generous assistance of the Youth Pilgrimage whose help and care touched each and every person. By the end of the pilgrimage so many people, filled with love and joy from their experience, commented how wonderfully prayerful and transformative the pilgrimage had been for them. Why not join us next year?
